Shapiro, D.O., F.A.C.C., F.A.C.O.I. of South Jersey Cardiology, P.C., received certification in Nuclear Cardiology from the Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology (CBNC). Nuclear Cardiology is a specialty of cardiology that uses radioisotopes for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes and is a fast and accurate way to assess heart health and function. “South Jersey Cardiology is dedicated to continually improving the quality of care for our patients,” said Dr. Shapiro. “This certification is another way for us to continue keeping hearts healthy in South Jersey.” The Nuclear Cardiology Certification Program encourages professional growth in, and enhances the quality of, the practice of nuclear cardiology. The Certification Board of Nuclear Cardiology, a not-for-profit corporation established in 1996, is a fully autonomous entity, independent of any other association, society or academy. This independence allows the CBNC to maintain integrity concerning policy matters related to certification. Since 2003, CBNC has collaborated with the European Council of Nuclear Cardiology (ECNC) to offer the examination in a European venue. ECNC has representation on the CBNC’s Examination Committee.
