Echocardiography

A safe, non-invasive, and painless procedure, an echocardiogram uses ultrasound waves to examine the heart. During this test, which is performed right in our office and can also be used in conjunction with a stress test, we use a transducer (a small microphone-like device) to send ultrasound waves that reflects echoes off the various parts of the heart. We use this information to help visualize the heart’s structure and blood flow. This test can help determine whether the patient has heart disease and if so, how serious the problem is.
